About anybody can go there and walk on, I remember Tompkins from Pound playing there about 5 years ago. I dont even remember the guy playing in high school but he walked on and was at least practice fodder, same with Stevie Neece. I just dont see them offering too many players around here schollies, thats all Im saying. I havent seen them play recently but the year I graduated college, they made it to nationals and the only people on the team I remember were Brandon Green and Zack Moore.(Papst was basically from germany) I just dont see anybody in this area being on Moore or Green's level right now. If uvaw is going to take guys, Im sure they will be offering the TV guys especially since there was a pipeline between council and uvaw in the past.

Tompkins was 2nd team all state.

They had brandon, zack, housey, Tony (for most the time), Papst, Young were all from the SWVA area.

Bobby was from Tabb, Parker is from Bristol, Ricky was from Tenn. somewhere.

It may not be possible to recruit as local for basketball, but I will never be conveinced that its not possible for baseball. Hall, Nixon, Wyatt and maybe a few others are all I remember at UVAW since 1998.

My apologies on Tompkins, he must have improved after I graduated. I think he was a year or 2 behind me.
